Finding the best settings for your vehicle helps you get the most out of your bike and makes it a whole lot more fun to ride. Yet we often put up with what we got because we don’t know how to make it better or even where to start. There are two key points to tuning the settings on your bike to make it better. The first step to tuning your bike is to set a baseline, then make small changes, measure the results, and keep refining until you get the best settings for your needs. The hard part of this is that most of us don’t have the time or discipline to record all the data or remember what the baseline settings where, what we changed, conditions we tested in, or how the bike performed. This is where Log Performance can make a difference for you and make your life a lot easier.
One of the super cool features of Log Performance is the ability to record all the settings on your bike and record your impressions of how each configuration changed the performance of your bike and how it felt at the location and conditions you tested it in. You can start with a baseline setting (whatever your manual recommends) and give that a name. Do some riding and rate the various performance parameters. Then change just one or two settings (suspension, tire pressure, etc), give that new Ride Set up a name, go riding, and rate how the bike performs with the new set up. Change no more than one or two things at a time and test to see if you feel an improvement. If you get too out of whack you can always go back to the baseline and start over.
After a while you will build up a record of bike settings and performance ratings that you can compare using the handy compare performances feature that Log Performance provides. That will give you a useful visual of what worked best and help you on your journey to get the most of out of your bike whenever and wherever you go riding.
Happy trails!
